Where are we now? After a decade in which the role of women changed like no other Johanna Reich investigates the dream factories of young women. Johanna Reich creates digital collages: girls and young women are asked to select their favourite idol. The participants are portrayed, while the idols they chose are projected onto their faces. Both faces - the iconic image and the young girls face melt together and create a new portrait: a Heroine (a demi-goddess) arises. The portraits are shown as pop culture quote, comparable to the posters that fill the rooms of teenagers. |
