Christophe-Paul Sauvage "City of obscure battles"

My series called «City of Obscure Battles» is a 21 photographs experimetal series that talks about the importance of memory in oneself's reconstruction. It is a journey to the core of identity, in a zone full of little deaths, of unkept promises, of abandoned or suspended projects. The series shows a land filled with iron beasts, earthen ogres, steel monsters, strange animals, petrified warriors, stranded ships and architecture made of odd yet familiar shapes. But beyond the static portrait of traumatic experiences, «City of Obscure Battles» is also a sort of inventory of possibilities, an exploration through regeneration, renewal and rebirth. «City of Obscure Battles» obtained two honorable mentions at the 2014 International Photography Awards (IPA), Los Angeles (USA).
